DWIGHT AND JAY LENO TAPE "CMT GOT ME IN WITH THE BAND"

LOS ANGELES, CA, September 8, 2003, Multiple Grammy Award-winning entertainer/actor Dwight Yoakam has the #1 video on the CMT Top 20 Countdown this week with his "The Back of Your Hand." Dwight also invited a lucky CMT fan to accompany him to his recent Tonight Show appearance. Dwight and Jay Leno taped a "CMT Got Me In With The Band" show with the fan. CMT will begin running that show on September 12 and it will air at the following times:

Friday, September 12 at 10 p.m. (EST)
Saturday, September 12 at 1 a.m., 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Monday, September 15 at 10 p.m.
Wednesday, September 17 at 8:30 p.m.

"The Late Great Golden State" single from Dwight's new Population Me CD is described in Entertainment Weekly's "A-" review as "a song about a crumbling California." It has been picked up by the media in their coverage of California's current gubernatorial recall elections in addition to getting strong radio rotation play as his current single.
