Modern Foods, the marketer and distributor of the Dwight Yoakam's Bakersfield Biscuits brand line of frozen food products, has announced the winners of its Boom Boom Shrimp™ recipe contest.

Recipes had to feature Boom Boom Shrimp™ breaded, par-baked shrimp made from hand selected Pacific white shrimp featuring unique Buffalo-style flavoring. Entrants participated in three categories: Easy Fixin's meals (easy-to-make main dishes with hands-on prep time of 30 minutes or less); Salads and Appetizers; and Especially for Kids.

The grand prize winner was Patti Sherman of Schenectady, NY with her recipe for Boom Boom Shrimp Stuffed Tenderloin. Easy Fixin's first place was Barbara Estabrook of Rhinelander, WI with a recipe for Cheezy Buffalo Boom Boom Shrimp Pizza. First place in Salads and Appetizers was Candace McMenamin of Lexington, SC with Boom Boom Blue Cheese Tarts and Betty Fulton of Spring, TX was first place in Especially for Kids with her recipe for Boom Boom Shrimp Clown Pockets. The grand prize winner received a trip for two to meet Dwight Yoakam and see him in concert. Trip includes airfare and lodging for two, limousine service to and from the concert, $500 spending money, and autographed DVDs and/or CDs. The three first-place category winners will each receive one flat-screen LCD TV and autographed DVDs and/or CDs.

Dwight Yoakam's Bakersfield Biscuits™ brand Boom Boom Shrimp™ can be found in the frozen seafood section of grocery stores nationwide. At Wal-Mart Supercenters, Boom Boom Shrimp™ are located in the upright freezer cases next to the fresh seafood service counter.

Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Dwight Yoakam is known for hits such as "Guitars, Cadillacs," "Fast As You," and "Ain't That Lonely Yet" in the course of a remarkable career that has spanned two decades and earned him a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2003.
